The birth of your new little baby has come and gone.  The baby has been nursing every two hours and sleeping in between feedings.  You as parents are working like a team.  Everything seems to going well. Then suddenly at three or four weeks, the dream baby turns into a high needs baby.  The baby now demands every minute of your time.

I can help you determine the cause of your baby’s inconsolable tears,  then recommend solutions that help your baby sleep easier.  Together we will develop a plan to manager your high needs baby.  When your baby is crying she is trying to tell you something.  We will listen together to identify her needs.

Dr. Bryan Vartabedian has written a definitive book Colic Solved  that will help you understand what is happening to your baby.   You, the parents and I will use the principles of  his book to develop strategies to help your child eat and sleep peacefully.  You and your baby don’t have to be miserable any longer!

Some behaviors you might notice include:

·         The baby cries inconsolably.  Nothing you do seems to soothe your baby

·         The baby begins to cry as soon as you try to transfer to the cradle.

·         The baby begins crying 5-10 minutes after being laid in the crib

·         The baby seems to have more gas than most babies.

·         If you lay the baby down allowing her to “cry it out” the crying escalates.

·         When you are breastfeeding the baby pulls on and off the nipple

·         Sometimes when feeding the baby, the baby eats voraciously

·         The baby frequently sounds congested

·         The baby seems to have hiccups a lot
