Postpartum Doula Packages
Note: Packages can be split by hours and days, depending on family needs.
Support and Encouragement Package
Fifteen (15) hours of assistance in caring for the baby, including the following: (1) the first bath, (2) cord care, (3) circumcision care if needed, (4) breastfeeding support, (5) assistance in developing healthy infant sleep patterns, (6) assistance with infant feeding needs and patterns, (7) provision of The Mother's Handbook and Log, and (8) instruction on the developmental needs of the infant from birth to 3 months of age.
Limited Newborn Package
Fifteen (15) hours of assistance in caring for the baby, including the following: (1) the first bath, (2) cord care, (3) circumcision care if needed, (4) breastfeeding support, (5) assistance in developing healthy infant sleep patterns, (6) assistance with infant feeding needs and patterns, (7) instruction on the developmental needs of the infant from birth to 3 months of age, (8) provision of The Mother’s Handbook and Log and of handouts appropriate for your infant’s developmental stage, (9) Happiest Baby on the Block coaching, (10) assistance in planning nutritious meals to support breastfeeding and increase the new mother's stamina, (11) laundry assistance as needed, and (12) one respite night for the mother to help prevent sleep deprivation.
Newborn Package
Twenty-Five (25) hours of assistance in caring for the baby, including the following: (1) the first bath, (2) cord care, (3) circumcision care if needed, (4) breastfeeding support, (5) assistance in developing healthy infant sleep patterns, (6) assistance with infant eating needs and patterns, (7) instruction on developmental needs of the infant from birth to 3 months of age, (8) provision of The Mother’s Handbook and Log and of handouts appropriate for the infant’s developmental stage, (9) Happiest Baby on the Block coaching, (10) assistance in planning nutritious meals to support breastfeeding and increase the new mother's stamina, (11) limited phone consultation, (12) laundry assistance as needed, and (13) one respite night for the mother to help prevent sleep deprivation.
Deluxe Newborn Package
Fifty (50) hours of assistance in caring for the baby, including the following: (1) the first bath, (2) cord care, (3) circumcision care if needed, (4) breastfeeding support, (5) assistance in developing healthy infant sleep patterns, (6) assistance with infant feeding needs and patterns, (7) instruction on the developmental needs of the infant from birth to 3 months of age, infant massage, and baby babble/signing, (8) provision of The Mother’s Handbook and Log and of handouts appropriate for the infant’s developmental stage, (9) Happiest Baby on the Block coaching, (10) assistance in planning nutritious meals to support breastfeeding and increase the stamina of the new mother, (11) assistance in meeting the mother’s postpartum needs, (12) unlimited phone consultation, (13) laundry assistance as needed, and (14) two respite nights for the mother to help prevent sleep deprivation.
Phone Consultation and Coaching
Services include the following: (1) unlimited calls between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, to be answered within 6 hours, (2) coaching in solving sleep problems, in establishing breastfeeding and/or other infant feeding methods, and in meeting the infant's developmental needs, (3) provision of handouts appropriate for the infant’s developmental stage, and (4) Happiest Baby on the Block coaching.
Infant Assessment and Evaluation
Services include the following: (1) evaluation of the infant's problems, (2) discussion of the preliminary assessment, (3) written assessment, with recommendations (within 24 hours) to remediate the problem and appropriate referrals, (4) follow-up phone call to adjust interventions for the individual infant and determine the success of the interventions, and (5) provision of appropriate infant care notes.
Happiest Baby on the Block Techniques
Services include the following: (1) evaluation of the infant’s current sleeping patterns and provision of a handout on infant sleep patterns, (2) instruction on the calming reflex and the 5 S’s, including a one-page guide to the 5 S’s, (3) review of the Happiest Baby on the Block video, (4) instruction on infant sleep deprivation and stages of infant sleep, including a one-page handout on the stages of infant sleep, and (5) phone and e-mail support after instruction .
